SPRING AND SUMMER, 2008
OLD NEWS – We were first
time exhibitors at the Red River Revel in Shreveport, LA, last
fall. What a blast that was! We weren’t sure if we were
going to survive the record heat that we had through the whole
9 days of the show, but we did. It was fun to see our biker friends
that live in the Shreveport area. Now we know what you really
look like when you aren’t in S.D. for the annual Sturgis
Motorcycle Rally – not so different from us crazy artists!
We won’t be in the Red River Revel this fall because of
our late schedule in S.D. So, we hope to see you this summer.
We are sad to say that the show we have been in
for the last three years in early November in St. Charles, MO,
will no longer be held. It is possible that the group that put
on this show will find another location and date in the St. Louis
area but this is all the information we have at this time. We
loved the historic St. Charles area and we will miss seeing our
friends that come to visit us at the show.
NEW NEWS - In January we were lucky
to be able to spend some time in Florida with friends and we loved
having a week of warm temperatures while there. We also spent
a couple nights in the lovely and historic old town of St. Augustine.
One of the things we did while there was spend most of a day at
the Alligator Farm. We’ve been hearing about it from friends
for a long time and we weren’t disappointed. We took many
photos of the alligators but even more of the wild birds that
inhabit the area. We photographed Roseate Spoonbills and a variety
of Egrets and Herons. For all you bird lovers, this is a great
place to go. From there we went to Georgetown, S.C, for the Winyah
Bay Heritage Festival, our first show of 2008. By then winter
had arrived.
Note that our dates as Artists-In-Residence in Custer
State Park, S.D, are later than usual this year. We will set up
our gallery on July 13 and take down our work on September 30.
One of my paintings, “Tatanka
Spirit”, will be on the items that are sold at the annual
Buffalo Roundup and I will be there during the Roundup to sign
the posters. One of Ron’s buffalo paintings was used for
the 2007 Roundup image. This year the actual roundup is on Monday,
September 29, 2008, but there are festivities all weekend leading
up to that day. You can get more information from Custer State
Park headquarters or the Custer
State Park Resort Company.
We will both be exhibiting our art in the Plantation
Wildlife Arts Festival in Thomasville, GA, November 21, 22,
and 23, 2008. We look forward to seeing all of our friends that
live in that lovely part of the country. The southern hospitality
is great to experience.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST - We know many
of you live in areas of the country that have been dealt many
severe blows with all the bad weather. You are on our minds and
we pray that you have been spared serious damage.
